Our Story #2

Originally from Texas, we moved to Tulsa in 2016 for my husband’s job in insurance. We were just feeling settled when an opportunity was presented with his company, and we were asked to relocate to Southeastern Oklahoma. Oddly enough, I had booked a stay in Carlton Landing for Memorial Day weekend before any of this was presented, but at that moment moving there wasn’t even a consideration. We spent the weekend driving around area towns looking for a place we might consider, and nothing felt like home.

At that time, the Carlton Landing Community Church was meeting in a tent, and we were encouraged to find scripture-based teaching and worship. Here are some pics of the church tent and us in front of the pop-up shops. If you speak to someone that remembers the church tent, they’ve been around a while. At this point we were still looking and praying about what to do.
