Our Story #4

We rented a home because we knew it would take some time to build and we wanted the kids to start school in CL in the fall. At the same time, my parents were considering purchasing a home in CL themselves.

This happens all the time. People come and they just “zing” with the charm of the town and then find themselves looking for homes in the coming weeks. I’ve seen it happen more times than I can count.

My parents found a wonderful property on Park St and offered to let us rent it while we built our home. We only stayed in the first rental house for a total of 13 nights because we were back and forth between places then. We were listing our home in Tulsa, so there were many moving parts. And in the midst of it all, we lost Caleb’s mom, who had been battling multiple myeloma for 7 years. We were devastated and overwhelmed with it all, and when I look back I don’t know how we did it but for the grace of God.
